Ecuador, May 20, 2025 Seguros Equinoccial announces that, after receiving authorization from the relevant regulatory bodies, it has finalized the acquisition of a majority stake in Ecuatoriano Suiza's shares, a transaction initially announced in October 2024.
This operation marks a milestone in the Ecuadorian insurance market by enabling the consolidation of two companies with extensive experience and a strong commitment to the country. This integration paves the way for the largest insurer with nationwide reach and reflects a shared vision for the future—one focused on strengthening protection, trust, and the quality of service offered to policyholders, strategic partners, and stakeholders.
In this new phase, Juan Manuel Merchán will assume the role of CEO of Seguros Equinoccial and Ecuatoriano Suiza. Regarding his appointment, he stated:
