Quito, July 10, 2023.- Grupo Futuro, the holding company of ecuador with more than 50 years creating value in a variety of industries, in partnership with the Foundation, United for Education (UxE), has promoted two schools in the communities of Chocó Andino. This effort is part of its continued commitment to education and social welfare, strengthening rural communities and providing children access to a quality education.
Thanks to significant improvements in Basic Education Schools Prosecutor Juan Larrea, and Santa Isabel, located in the community of the Delight and Pactoloma respectively, both located in the parish Covenant, a total of 92 students, 4 teachers, and 73 families will benefit from a learning environment that is safe and appropriate.
Juan Carlos Berrú, executive chairman of the Grupo Futuro, he stressed “We are committed to creating opportunities for the future from our investments, and without a doubt, education is a fundamental pillar to drive the development of our communities. We are proud to contribute to this cause, which not only improves the physical conditions of the schools, but also strengthens the social fabric and community”.
This project, which has required a total investment of 135 thousand dollars, has been promoted and funded by the Fundación Futuro, an organization that leads the corporate responsibility agenda of the 20 companies in the Grupo Futuro, including, Metropolitan Touring, Seguros Equinoccial, Health SA, Veris, and others. The investment was allocated to infrastructure improvements, development of specific furniture and digital, pedagogical materials, such as Montessori, books, musical instruments, art materials, and educational games.
“We are investing in the future of Ecuador. These improvements represent opportunities for children and girls of the Chocó Andino, ensuring that they have access to a quality education,” said Carolina Davalos, coordinator of the management of the landscape in a sustainable Future Foundation.
Claudia Suarez, coordinator of volunteer United for Education, mentioned “From 2020, we have been working hand-in-hand Group Future benefiting up to now has more than 17 educational institutions thanks to an intervention with the community as the center of everything and focused on four main lines of action: education, infrastructure, equipment, and governance”.
By your side, Marc Bery, manager of Mashpi Lodge, he stressed that “As Mashpi Lodge we want to plant allies for the protection of our forest and who better to start from a very young age to understand the importance of the ecosystem that surrounds us.”
